Assembly Support Engineer

An assembly support engineer works with customer and outsourced semiconductor assembly and test vendors to ensure that integrated circuits are packaged correctly. This involves working with a variety of teams, including design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance teams.

The assignment:
• Provide technical support to customer on assembly processes, qualifications, and materials.
• Ensure delivery of packaged components in time to the customer.
• Ensures quality and reliability of assembled components.
• Work with suppliers to source and qualify new packaging materials and components.
• Generate reports on packaging yields, defects, and other relevant metrics.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in and knowledge of semiconductor packaging technologies, assembly engineering, materials, and processes.
• Knowledge of industry standards and specifications for IC packaging.
• Analytical skills to identify root causes of problems and develop solutions
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the IC packaging process.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
