Electrical Project Engineer

The role
This role requires a valid Belgian Working Permit.
The Electrical Project Engineer must be able to manage the various aspects relating to electrical power for construction or renovation projects at nuclear power stations, in particular in Doel, for nuclear and conventional electrical systems.
In addition, he/she must be able to take on the following tasks :
- Take charge of design, renovation and optimization studies for electrical systems, in compliance with local and international standards and regulations
- Set out the ratings of equipment, technical specifications and the general design of electrical systems, including generators, generator protections, generator breakers, power transformers, MV and LV motors, AC and DC electrical boards, DC and Safe AC systems, emergency diesel generating sets, cabling...
- As Contract Owner take charge of the invitations to tender, the analysis and technical-commercial negotiation of bids as well as the awarding of contracts for the supply of electrical equipment or services
- Oversee the management of interfaces relating to other technical disciplines or with the customer’s installation
- Conduct a technical-commercial follow-up of contracts
- Take part in factory tests, in the supervision of on-site assembly and in commissioning tests for electrical equipment or systems
- Provide consulting in the field of electrical systems of nuclear generation units.
- Keep an eye on changes on the market, best practices as well as advances in electrical/ nuclear standards and regulatory requirements
- Participate in the improvement of methods used in the electrical engineering field for nuclear generation units
Your profile
- Master in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years experience in the electrical field, preferably in the field of nuclear power electrical systems that include classification and qualification of nuclear safety functions
- Competences in electrical distribution, equipment sizing, calculations, market activities
- Mobile and open to missions abroad (short or medium-term), with regular meetings/activities in the site of Doel NPP’s
- Fluent in NL/EN, FR is a plus
- Eligible for a Nuclear Habilitation

In het las- en productieatelier van Deprez kunnen aanpassingen rechtstreeks gecommuniceerd worden naar engineering, waardoor ik al enorm veel bijgeleerd heb.
Een van de boeiendste onderdelen van mijn werk is de afwisseling in projecten en taken.
Ik ben ook bezig met de elektrische besturing, wat erg interessant is want dat is het kruispunt van de volledige automatiseringsscope.
Verhaert Consulting heeft me geholpen om mijn interesses en passie te ontdekken, en ondersteunt me om deze interesses na te streven.
We ontwerpen nieuwe producten en diensten op basis van de onvervulde behoeften en de echte job-to-be-done. Zo creëren we een uniek en duurzaam verschil in de markt.
Het is lonend om te zien dat klanten zich openstellen voor de vaardigheden die ik te bieden heb en er voordeel uit halen, ook al waren ze er in eerste instantie niet naar op zoek.

Voor mij is werken bij Verhaert als job-hopping, maar dan zonder van bedrijf te veranderen.
Hoe beter je 'het motief' achter beslissingen begrijpt, hoe gemakkelijker het is om behoeften van klanten en bedrijven in evenwicht te houden.
Projectopvolging is een zeer dynamisch gegeven. Het geeft je een goed gevoel dat je de machine kan opvolgen van bij het prille begin tot het eindproces.
Door onze activiteiten in verschillende sectoren en in elke fase van het ontwerpproces te kunnen ondersteunen, is elk project een kans om te leren en te groeien in je job
Verhaert Consulting helpt mij bij het vinden van een balans tussen werk en gezin.
