Quality Engineer - Project Basis

Verhaert On-site Consulting is a Belgian consulting firm founded in 2006. The organization provides solutions for companies and organizations in various sectors, including aerospace, medical devices, automotive and consumer electronics.
Together we work on challenging projects for leading clients and offer expertise in concept development, engineering, prototyping, testing and project management.

• You are responsible for the general engineering quality assurance of several product ranges or technologies within the product development division.
• You review all designs of the products within this range on a global scale.
• You investigate the root cause for element quality issues.
• You manage and facilitate the necessary product changes and initiate fundamental improvements.

A valid working permit for Belgium is required for this assignment

• Master of Science Mechanics or Electromechanics, or equal by experience.
• Good problem-solving skills are required: A3, 5why, Ishikawa, 8D, …
• Good knowledge on project way of working is crucial: design and process FMEA, Concept to product, feasibility, functional prototype, production prototype, pilot batch
• Fluent in English and good command of Dutch
• You give constructive feedback during review meetings. You are persistent in defining solutions.

Nice to have:

• Experience in design reviewing complex mechanical designs is a plus: compressors, centrifugal pumps, motors, …
• Knowledge on technical drawings and simulations is advised: CAD, Catia, Inventor
• Additional experiences in manufacturing, foundry and assembly are recommended: casting, grinding, milling, turning, coating, …
• Experience in the field of claim handling and identifying root causes for mechanical failures is advised: oil starvation, fretting corrosion, thermal load, coating wear, bearing failures, …

• Trips abroad are no problem
