Verhaert On-site Consulting is a Belgian consulting firm founded in 2006 and specializes in innovation and product development. The organization provides solutions for companies and organizations in various sectors, including aerospace, medical devices, automotive and consumer electronics.
Together we work on challenging projects for leading clients and offer expertise in concept development, engineering, prototyping, testing and project management. The company has more than 150 employees .
Verhaert On-site Consulting is part of the Verhaert Group Masters in Innovation.
Your responsibilities
You will characterize novel MEMS systems in existing technologies and technologies under development. More specifically, the existing team is working on a new MEMS system composed of actuators and sensors which need to reach extremely challenging accuracy in extreme environment. Your job will be to take part of these activities and drive the characterization effort.
- You will execute the characterization of different components, electrically, mechanically and optically, and report out.
- You will be part of building new setups for short-term testing as well as long-term reliability, and provide documentation.
- You will develop documented measurement automation scripts and data processing algorithms for the most time-intensive challenges.
- You will collaborate with specialists from our cross-disciplinary design and technology teams.
Your profile
- Master's or PhD degree in Mechanics or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience
- in hands-on MEMS characterization, specifically with any or all of the following: SMU, impedance analyzer, automated prober, laser Doppler vibrometer, white light interferometer, FemtoTools, microphone, hydrophone, lock-in amplifier.
- with Python scripting for automation and data processing
- with MATLAB scripting for data processing o in creative problem-solving
- a good team player with competent communication and reporting skills.
- a very good knowledge of English is mandatory.

‘Learning-by-doing, no PowerPoint engineering’ is een motto dat vaak gebruikt wordt.
Consultant zijn maakt mij sterker, het is een proces waarin ik nooit stil sta. We leren van de vele klanten, industrieën en werkomgevingen.
In het las- en productieatelier van Deprez kunnen aanpassingen rechtstreeks gecommuniceerd worden naar engineering, waardoor ik al enorm veel bijgeleerd heb.
Een van de boeiendste onderdelen van mijn werk is de afwisseling in projecten en taken.
Ik ben ook bezig met de elektrische besturing, wat erg interessant is want dat is het kruispunt van de volledige automatiseringsscope.
Verhaert Consulting heeft me geholpen om mijn interesses en passie te ontdekken, en ondersteunt me om deze interesses na te streven.
We ontwerpen nieuwe producten en diensten op basis van de onvervulde behoeften en de echte job-to-be-done. Zo creëren we een uniek en duurzaam verschil in de markt.
Het is lonend om te zien dat klanten zich openstellen voor de vaardigheden die ik te bieden heb en er voordeel uit halen, ook al waren ze er in eerste instantie niet naar op zoek.

Voor mij is werken bij Verhaert als job-hopping, maar dan zonder van bedrijf te veranderen.
Hoe beter je 'het motief' achter beslissingen begrijpt, hoe gemakkelijker het is om behoeften van klanten en bedrijven in evenwicht te houden.
Projectopvolging is een zeer dynamisch gegeven. Het geeft je een goed gevoel dat je de machine kan opvolgen van bij het prille begin tot het eindproces.
Door onze activiteiten in verschillende sectoren en in elke fase van het ontwerpproces te kunnen ondersteunen, is elk project een kans om te leren en te groeien in je job
