Project Engineer (Jr./Sr.) (Industrial Machines)

Verhaert On-site Consulting is a Belgian consulting firm founded in 2006 and specializes in innovation and product development. The company provides solutions for companies and organizations in various sectors, including aerospace, medical devices, automotive and consumer electronics.

Verhaert On-site Consulting works on challenging projects for leading customers and offers expertise in concept development, engineering, prototyping, testing and project management.

The company has more than 150 employees and is part of the Verhaert Masters in Innovation Group.

You will be joining the engineering team of our customer, which consist of 5 colleagues and has 3 technologies under its wings.
Your role is two-sided.

First of all you will take responsibility as a Project Lead:

• You will be motivating the project team to reach the project targets.
• You will work on projects related to new product development, quality and cost.
• You will define together with the project team the development of products from the first prototype to serial production.
• As a project leader, you will be accountable for the realization of the project deliverables and regularly report to the management steering committee. You closely follow up and manage the project budget, timing, product functional requirements and cost.
• You’ll lead, motivate, and steer the project team throughout the whole product development process. You represent the project team and your Division towards internal customers and suppliers.

Apart from project management, you are as well responsible for the technical scope.

• You safeguard the technical coherence during the design phase.
• You nurture cross-departmental feedback and aim to optimize the cost and value of product design for all our stakeholders (from supplier, to production, to our internal and external customers).
• You work according to the applicable procedures to ensure that the demanded product- and process quality is met.

• Master mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Experience as a project leader/manager in a technical environment is a plus.
• Experience in a product development context is a plus.
• Technical experience with complex industrial machines and systems is a plus.
• You communicate fluently in English and Dutch.
• Product development, testing, and manufacturing are mainly done on site at the customers' premises. This means you will have hands-on experience with the products and will also work outside of a traditional desk environment.
